"The Eagle's Nest"

aka Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF)

The mission of the SCA Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) is to promote unity in our school through coordination of programs, communication, fellowship, and encouragement to one another, our administration, and our teachers. This parent organization is committee-based service rather than a PTA model of a parent board run by a few.  Every family member is a member of the "Eagle's Nest".  The success of this model is dependent upon parent volunteerism.

The Eagle's Nest is about relationships between all of us!  We are on family combined in two schools.  We are serving one another as we all serve our Savior, Jesus Christ. 

1 Peter 4:10 tells us that "Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others."  We use these gifts at SCA through our volunteering/serving at our school. 

Goals

  1. To develop avenues of hospitality toward the faculty of SCA, the students, and their parents.
  2. To continually improve and enhance the quality of our school.
  3. To be a positive public relations agency to our school community.
  4. To develop between educators and parents such united efforts as will secure for our children highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.

Structure
The Eagle's Nest functions under the authority of the school board and administration. In keeping with Parent Teacher Fellowship’s mission to promote unity in the school through coordination of programs, communication, fellowship, and encouragement to one another, your PTF board has restructured PTF from a board format to a committee format to be collectively known as the “Eagle’s Nest” (EST = Eagle Service Team).  

It is our hope, that in this culture of busy moms and dads, the new format will allow many parents to engage in supporting the activity of their choice rather than asking parents to attend monthly board meetings and work several events.  The committee chairs will report directly to administration and will manage their team of workers for a specific event.

Room Representatives (i.e., room moms) will continue working as they have in past years with no changes.  The committee chairs will be emailing room representatives with needs for each grade and their particular event. 

We are asking every parent to sign up for a committee to serve on the “Eagle’s Nest”.  The following is a list of committees available.

How Can You Be Involved?

I love promoting fellowship with parents, teachers, and students.
