<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12.0pt; mso-pagination: none; mso-layout-grid-align: none; text-autospace: none;">“Summit Christian Academy has made an impact on American students as well as exchange students by teaching and sharing foreign language, history and culture,” said Executive Director of AIFS/Academic Year in America Melanie French.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">Danan Hughes</b> and his wife, Tifanni, have been married for 17 years and have three children, Taurin, Savana, and Talyn, who have attended SCA since 2000.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Hughes attended the University of Iowa on an athletic scholarship and played baseball and football.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>He played professional baseball for two years before being drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 1993.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>He played with the Kansas City Chiefs for six years (three years as captain) and retired in 1999.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Hughes has been with U.S. Bank Home Mortgage in the Wealth Management Group since April, 2000.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">John Kliewer</b> and his wife Megan have three children, Jessalyn, Preston, and Griffin, who have attended SCA since 2005.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Kliewer graduated from Tabor College, a Christian college in Hillsboro, KS, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>He joined Waddell &amp; Reed Financial Advisors in 1995 and serves as a managing principal and is on Waddell &amp; Reed’s Leadership Council.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>Kliewer served on the Board of Education for Grand Island Christian School and Megan has been a teacher in two Christian schools.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">“We are pleased that our school has elected two outstanding individuals, who are not only leaders at SCA, but are active leaders in the community as well,” said SCA Head of School Linda Harrelson.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span></p>

One who has integrity will not be corrupted by circumstances that seem to be unfair or difficult.”</i></b></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormalCxSpLast"><span style="font-family: 'Book Antiqua'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Traditional Arabic'; color: black;">Parks</span><span style="font-family: 'Book Antiqua'; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Traditional Arabic';">wrote, <b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">“A man of integrity keeps his word and stands up for his beliefs in the face of hardship and ridicule.” </i></b>He continued by explaining how he demonstrates integrity at his workplace,<b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"> “I strongly believe that consistently working hard even when no one is around to supervise shows integrity.”</i></b></span></p>

<p>(Lee’s Summit) – Summit Christian Academy (SCA) recently recognized Senior Luke Hammer as the Student of the Year.  Hammer has attended SCA for 5 years and will be attending Drake University.  Hammer plans to major in Business Management and International Relations.  Hammer is the son of Rodney and Debbie Hammer of Lee’s Summit.</p>
<p>Hammer was very active as a student at SCA.  He was the President of Student Government, the Vice-president of the International   Thespian Society and Cappie winner, the student director and intern for SCA’s international program and GlobalConnect, a student commissioner for the Lee’s Summit Human Relations Commission, a varsity hockey player, an award-winning artist, and a three-time published author.</p>
<p>“It is an honor to present Luke with this award,” said SCA Secondary Principal Emir Ruiz-Esparza.  “He is a young man of  tremendous character who was a leader not only at SCA, but in the community as well.”</p>
